Learning from Dosa Failures!

It is said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. And the two quick dishes that I admire are Omelette and Dosa. Here is my Dosa Failure Analysis!

Omelette is quick to prepare but I struggled a lot with Dosa. Mothers are the University of Cooking. My mother used to cook Dosa's and used to serve me another one before I could finish the earlier one. That was amazingly hot and fast!

But when I tried myself, I failed. Again I tried and failed many more times. And this failure was so ultimate that I stopped trying to cook Dosa. But one day, I decided to give a try again. I was near Rendezvous Point but it could not be said that mission was accomplished. But I was Too Close to success. And finally I am now Dosa Specialist. Now, I can cook any shape, any color, any size, paper thin, extra smooth, plain Dosa, masala Dosa, Onion Dosa, Uttapam and many more variations and that too anytime and in no time. Is it a time to celebrate success with yet another Dosa or to ponder what went wrong earlier? Here is my Dosa Analysis!

• Planning: The most important stage in any activity is planning. I was missing on planning, choosing the right resources, mixing the right blend and giving the sufficient time. And that was the reason that the end product was scrambled. Now, I plan eveything.
• Patience: I was quite impatient. Believed in quick results. Tried to turn half baked product and end result was disaster. Now I have patience. I give sufficient time and wait for the better result but also avoid overcooking.
• Perseverance: So, now I am expert, I know everything, I am warrior, I am victorious, Dosa is a small thing. No! This overconfidence was beaten when I failed again. But I kept trying again and again. Now I invite my friends and relatives and serve them Dosa and they love it. So, perseverance is the name of the Game. Continue and practice more and more in what you love to do, I have understood.
• Perfection: When you fail, plan again, success might be too close or too far, who knows? Have patience. Practice and develop perseverance and ultimately you will reach the stage called Perfection. Now I am Unconsciously Competent.
