Learning Data Science? Here are a few Free Learning Resources

This 'very brief' article is to help others keep learning when resources are limited.

As we all learn to navigate these times of uncertainty, it's important that we stand together as a community. And while I'm a big proponent of investing financially for professional growth, right now not everyone has the capacity to do that.

Fortunately, there are plenty of free options for analytics professionals to further develop their craft (a blessing and a curse). I'm early in my own journey in the space of data analtyics and have discovered a few resources that can help ??

SQL, R and Microsoft Excel (yes, I said Excel) are invaluable when it comes to wrangling, exploring, summarizing, and communicating findings from your data.

These three tools make up my basic tool-kit for business-analytics and I hope someone can benefit from the 'short-list' of resources down below ??

Without further ado (and in no particular order), here are a few resources to help you continue your journey (for FREE)

  1. R: Jumpstart With R (Free Course - Matt Dancho opened Indefinitely)
  2. R: Learning Labs (Hosted by Matt Dancho from Business Science)
  3. R: R for Data Science (by Garrett Grolemund & Hadley Wickham)
  4. R: Tidy Tuesday Screencasts (YouTube Channel by David Robinson)
  5. SQL: Vertabelo Academy (portions of courses are free)
  6. SQL: Mode SQL Tutorial (learn the fundamentals)
  7. Excel: MyExcelOnline (YouTube Channel by John Michaloudis)
  8. R/Excel: Dave on Data (YouTube Channel by David Langer)

Hope these resources help you continue your learning journey.

That's it for today.

Enter your Email Here if you'd like to be notified when I write a new article with bite-size content (typically focused on exploring and wrangling data).

P.S. Be Kind and Tidy your Data ??
