Learning Curve: Vicente D. Magbanua Jr.’s 12 Years at Allsec

Being with Allsec for more than a decade has been like taking a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Project Management. Through the years, I have seen my leaders at the forefront of learning. No matter how busy they are, they take time to teach and guide everyone around them.

It is inspiring to see how they never run out of things to teach that help people grow every day. I have seen my superiors lead by example. There’s so much to learn from everyone. And, I have always got the support I needed whenever I hit a roadblock. As a Senior Operations Manager today, I follow the lead my seniors instilled in me to walk the talk. It is things like these that drive me to stay on at Allsec and dedicate more time to continuously learn, apply and share my learnings along the way.

In my 12 years with Allsec I have personally witnessed projects and processes grow. I have seen people who started out as agents and are now part of the leadership team. Opportunities are galore here. Allsec is constantly setting up different sessions with possible new businesses that aid every employee’s growth journey. This gives me the confidence that there’s so much more to come in the years ahead.

My biggest achievement at Allsec has been to grow the business from 90 to 156 FTEs. I would not have been able to pull this off on my own. I had the full guidance and support of my immediate manager and the leadership team. All of them helped me drive performance and maintain our clients’ confidence.

Numerous challenges have also come along the way, the major one being the sudden outburst of the pandemic. Unexpected lockdowns and sicknesses led to a significant setback in the company’s process. However, we were able to overcome this with the help of our dedicated teams. The synergy between departments like HR, facility and IT helped set up work-from-home arrangements effectively. They made sure that we were well-connected.

If I had the chance to speak to my younger self on my first day at Allsec, I would give him a glimpse into my journey and see the things I would get to learn as well as how I could overcome any roadblock or failure along the way.? Turning to the future, I’m looking forward to handling bigger projects, getting more experience, working with the amazing leaders here and training in every aspect possible.
