The Learning Curve With My Magellan TRX7 CS Pro GPS

The Learning Curve With My Magellan TRX7 CS Pro Dual Mount Trail And Street GPS Navigator With Camera

A week or so ago I received the new Magellan TRX7 CS Pro Dual GPS. First thing I did was unbox it, power it up and check out all of it’s features. We planned on using this in our Can-Am Commander project, but it has been a wet spring here in Wyoming. Every-time we plan a trip to the mountains it pours down rain & hail. If the trails are wet & muddy I don’t want to go ripping it up. I am just saying destroying our trails will get them shut down in a big way.

So, in between rain storms I mounted the Magellan TRX7 CS Pro Dual on my Triumph Explorer 1200 Adventure Bike. I think it looks pretty cool, but really not practical. Mounted this way blocks your instrument gauge, but works pretty good. This time with my new GPS mounted this way has given me the opportunity to learn all the functions of this GPS. I really don’t want to get on the trails and to be fidgeting with this unit trying to figure out how everything works.

I am ready, and below are a few of the screen shots of what & how we will be using it in the field.

Mounted on my adventure bike purely to explore the GPS's functions.

The navigation screen is simple to read. Record tracks, menu, and camera functions are laid out in plain sight, and simple to navigate.

This is the screen overlay in video record mode. This is a favorite of mine for all of the video recording modes.

One of the cool video modes is being able to take a time lapse video, way cool, EH!

So, with the help of the Magellan Support team I have mastered this GPS, and we are ready to explore the outback. You can check out the support articles for this unit or contact the support team from this link below. This team is some of the most helpful people in the business, and they know their stuff.

As a bonus i took some video of my trip through the neighborhood with the camera. The video is a bit shaky, but I get a lot of vibration from my handle bars. I am curious to see how well it will work while mounted in my utv.

You can check out this unit online, and look forward to some cool utv adventures this season from the crew at atvpt.com.
