Learning - A continuous process!

Most of us have an impression that, education and learning are one and the same. If that is the case, people with the highest education would be the most successful. Education is definitely the most important aspect of learning. However, learning is not confined to academic qualifications.

So, What exactly is learning?

" True learning is taking place when you are motivated to learn more" . As the title states, learning is a continuous process. It is not confined to a particular situation, a particular job or a particular time frame.

"Every human is a born learner. But, we tend to forget the importance of learning as we grow up." If, at any point of life, we think that we have mastered everything , that is when, we actually draw a "Full Stop" to our learning. Therefore, It is very important to have a child like approach towards everything in life.

Be excited about what is new, be curious about every positive thing, never refuse to ask questions, always be occupied, "Learn from everything and from everyone!"

What is the source of learning?

There is one simple answer to this question. The major source of learning is, "Our Mindset". It is very rightly said that, "We always get what we seek". If we have the hunger to learn, the universe is our teacher.

  • The air teaches us that all of us are free spirits and we do not have boundaries. So, always aim higher!
  • The water teaches us the importance of being flexible and continuous movement. It is very important for all of us to be flexible to adapt to various situations of life. Stagnant water evaporates, flowing water joins the ocean!- Always have a flowing approach towards life and be excited about what life has is store of us! - Learn from the past and move forward enthusiastically for a wonderful tomorrow!
  • The earth teaches us to be grounded. Be grounded to your principles and ethics.
  • The fire teaches us the importance of being unbiased. A child never discriminates anything or anyone. As we grow old, we tend to form opinions and become judgmental about people and situations. To make informed decisions in life, it is very important to be unbiased.

The above points were a few examples of learning from our natural environment. Similarly, every situation that we come across in our life, every person we encounter with in our life and every experience of our life are our teachers.

" There is only one difference between class-room teachers and Life. Class-room teachers will first teach us and then, test us. Life will first test us and then teach us."

So, let us all be good students in our journey of life and let there be no end to our hunger for learning!

P.S: This is my first article. My humble effort to put in words about the most important aspect of my life, "Continuous learning". Additional inputs/comments are always welcomed.
