Learning to code using generative AI- mindmap - inverse bloom

Hello all

I hope you find this useful

I am sharing a mindmap we developed for learning to code. I will share more as we develop it

In our course at?#universityofoxford, (Artificial Intelligence: Generative AI, Cloud and MLOps (online) https://lnkd.in/dcdrjSC2 ) ,?I have been?working on the idea of inverse bloom / reverse bloom taxonomy for some time?

We initially trialled this for the metaverse and then I extended it for learning to code

I share our ideas below

Its likely we will deploy this through the Erdos research labs first?

Here is a thought experiment

If you were to learn to code today - would you learn in the same way as you did a year ago?

I propose not

Essentially, today, you would use Generative AI as a co-pilot

But its?more than generative AI

We are extending this idea by creating a pedagogy (Inverse Bloom) as per my previous post

The idea of inverse bloom taxonomy is (deceptively) simple?- it involves flipping (inverting) the well-known Bloom's taxonomy in education

We start with creativity in learning?

The challenge is - to tie back to the fundamentals

To achieve this objective, we use a two-sided mindmap?as a framework / navigation tool for teachers

The left hand side of the mindmap?is the application perspective

The right hand side is the foundations

We start with the end in mind i.e. to build a web service, app etc

Hence the creativity

We consider a real life use case (ex ecommerce)?

But map to foundations?

Hence, the mindmap serves as a pedagogical tool for a teacher

combined with generative AI, we can create personalised learning paths

This approach is intentionally far from 'Hello world' but I believe its?possible today - led by generative AI and a new pedagogy which we are developing

Below is the two sided mindmap?we created.

Its still work in progress.

I shall share more as we develop.?

We plan to map other use cases

We are investing in c# and .net because we are tying development to higher level problems through autonomous AI agents which combines full stack development and AI development

Ultimately, we plan to help developers for implementing both greenfield and brownfield projects??

I'm using BING's AI generated search to teach me what's missing - i.e., conceptual gaps in a machine learning course from eCornell - particularly the theoretical content to Python applications. So, certainly your mind maps would help course content creation, including individualized teaching processes.
