Learning AI to Lead: My Experience with Great Learning & the University of Houston

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing industries, and I'm thrilled to share my recent journey toward becoming an AI-ready leader. I recently completed the "Artificial Intelligence for Leaders" program, a collaborative effort between Great Learning and the University of Houston. This wasn't just a certification but a catalyst, empowering me with the knowledge and skills to drive innovation with AI.

Here are five key takeaways from this enriching experience:

1. Understanding How AI Works: The program provided a comprehensive overview of AI, demystifying core concepts like machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning. Now, I have a solid understanding of how algorithms process data, allowing me to identify opportunities where AI can address real-world business challenges confidently.

2. Building Models Using KNIME & Measuring Performance: Hands-on experience with the KNIME platform was a major highlight. This intuitive tool allowed me to construct AI models and data workflows without being bogged down by complex coding. Beyond building, I learned about critical model performance metrics such as F1 Score, precision, and recall, which allowed me to rigorously evaluate and optimize my models. This understanding is essential for ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of AI solutions.

3. Data Visualization and Pattern Identification: This program emphasized the importance of understanding and visualizing data to uncover hidden patterns. I learned how to use various data visualization techniques to identify trends, correlations, and anomalies in complex datasets. This ability to "see" the story within the data has equipped me with a powerful tool for making informed decisions and communicating insights effectively to stakeholders.

4. Learning Together with Co-Learners: The collaborative environment fostered by Great Learning was truly inspiring. I had the opportunity to work alongside fellow learners from diverse backgrounds and industries. Our discussions and group projects allowed us to share insights and challenge each other's perspectives. I especially want to thank Pooja Khandelwal , her support in learning and discussing all the topics and assignments was invaluable throughout the program. Her insights and willingness to collaborate significantly enhanced my learning experience.

5. My Project: "Career Copilot": During the six-week project, my team and I ideated on an innovative concept called "Career Copilot." This AI-powered platform aims to assist professionals in navigating their career paths by providing personalized insights and recommendations. We developed a complete business model, demonstrating how this idea could be brought to life.
