Learn to U.S.E. Money

By Jack Stiger

How can you learn to properly U.S.E. money, and force it to become your employee?

“U.S.E.” stands for:

  • Understand
  • Strategize
  • Efficient

Why is U.S.E. useful? It will give you a clearer idea of what your financial goals should look like.

Let’s start with “understanding.” Understanding your money is the first part of the U.S.E. system, and is very important because it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when looking at your finances — especially for a beginner. For instance, I really liked how the Money Vehicle system explains the types of things you can invest in, and the steps you need to take to put your money to work. By understanding how all of this works, it allows you to start strategizing.

Second: strategize. You’ll want to start strategizing with your money in a way that makes you feel confident and comfortable. After all, you want your money to work for you, not just sit in a bank account. Money invested now should be worth more later (thanks to compound interest and market growth). So, you’ll want to put it to work sooner rather than later. That’s why it’s important to strategize, consider your investing options, and to create a plan.

“Efficiency” is the last part of the U.S.E. system, and there are many ways you can be efficient with your money. The simplest thing people can do? Create a weekly or monthly cash management system, and try to eliminate unnecessary expenses.

For example, personally, the Money Bucket System has been one of the most important takeaways from the MV course. Since I implemented it, I have noticed a significant improvement on how I spend my money. Specifically, I have been spending less money eating out. I saw how much money I was spending, and started making my own meals much more consistently which has saved me money.

Remember, small expenses can add up. And if you can learn to make each dollar work for you, and give it a job to do, you will truly begin to U.S.E. it!
