Learn Sound Design fully on YouTube

This month is about learning!

I have found learning sound design has proven to be useful for music composition.

Especially for expanding my video game music composing skills!

I’ve noticed that having an essential library of YouTube channels has been useful to learn and keep improving on this endless journey of sound design.

So, today I am sharing 5 of my Essential Sound Design YouTube Channels!

As always have fun!

In the Mix

In The Mix has the great ability to clearly articulate knowledge. He has a deep understanding of music production and sound design.

He has also made sure this channel is full of professionalism and dedication.

You will like his video on Cinematic Synth Strings in Vital. It’s part of a full series on Sound Design Fundamentals.

I find it perfect for beginners and for those of us who want to create cinematic music.

Eric Bowman

@Eric Bowman impressed me with his deep knowledge of Vital and sound design.

For the advanced you out there he has a video for advanced arpeggiators in Vital.

Also, you will love his video on how to make a Vital Wurlitzer and Fender Rhodes electric pianos in Vital.

Signs of Life

I may have spent 50 hours watching this channel!

He does deep and extensive walkthroughs going over the space ambient track-making process.

I recommend you catch his livestream sessions!

If you’ve been wanting to learn how to make ambient pads, want no more. Watch this video:

Dash Glitch

He’s a total master Sound Designer.

If you truly embrace learning and going deep. I recommend this 2-hour long video with tons of gems for creating with Vital.

Negativist

The perfect example of what a great sound design channel is:

  • Dedicated to Teach
  • Direct Value

If you are into screen-recorded tutorials this is your guy.

One of the best videos I’ve watched on sound designing cinematic braams and bends.

Quick tip:

What works for me when I’m learning is to open the tutorial and follow along step by step.

Once I’m done with the tutorial, I go on and recreate it myself.

Then I go back and forth to the tutorial to go over obstacles.

After that is a matter of practice to integrate all the parts.

That’s all for today!
