Learn More About Rachel Bird, Reimagine Power's Policy Strategy Consultant
Rachel Bird (she/her) is a Policy Strategy Consultant for Reimagine Power. Rachel began teaming up with Allie Detrio , Reimagine Power’s Founder and Chief Strategist when they were both working in the commercial & industrial solar and storage industry. The two walked the halls of the Capitol and collaborated on legislative and regulatory advocacy on behalf of schools and public agencies.?
Rachel earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She worked on electoral campaigns in New Jersey, New Hampshire, and California. While working in politics, she connected with people, like Detrio, in the solar energy industry and eventually found her way into the wonkier and more technical aspects of the clean energy transition.?
In 2020, after four years of leading western states policy and business development for Borrego Solar, Rachel started her own consulting firm, Rachel Bird Strategies, Inc., where she helps her clients achieve their clean energy policy and market development goals. Since starting her company, she has had the pleasure of collaborating with Detrio and the Reimagine Power team. Most recently, Rachel and the Reimagine Power team worked on a project at the nexus of transportation electrification and microgrids. Rachel, Detrio, Public Relations and Outreach Consultant Selena Feliciano , and Senior Policy Analyst Allison Hilliard recently wrote a report advising transit agencies exploring electric bus adoption on the barriers and opportunities for resiliency solutions. Rachel’s favorite part about her job is that policy is a team sport; she loves working alongside others towards a common goal. It is equally rewarding to work with clients and colleagues who are putting in the real work to make the necessary transitions to a clean energy economy.?
In this new year, Rachel is excited to continue collaborating with Reimagine Power and other great people who share her firm’s mission of accelerating the clean energy transition. In her free time, Rachel can be found in Alameda, CA riding her bike, reading, and wrangling her 4-year-old twins.
