Learn with Me
Over 4 million students have watched some part of some technical course that I've created over the past years. I have created 30+ courses covering Cloud and Data technologies for LinkedIn Learning and also other platforms, such as YouTube.
In 2020, I will be updating some of my most popular courses on LinkedIn Learning. A pattern that I've been implementing for awhile now has been to 'try out' new course material with some graduate students before I record them for LinkedIn Learning.
This type of trying out the courseware and/or services gives the students the advantage of learning technologies for free and gives me the benefit of feedback as I work to develop course materials. Well, my graduate students were quick learners - all of them have now graduated and they all got full-time jobs! So, I am currently looking for more student collaborators.
Over the years, I've spent extra time during the holiday season learning new technologies and I was wondering,
"do my students learn now as well?"
The courses that I am working on revising are in the context areas of cloud and big data processing/pipelines. If you are interested in being part of this process, here's what you can do.
- Email me on Linked In Learning
- Tell me if you are more interested in AWS or GCP data services
- Let me know a day/time (between 10am CST to 8pm CST) in a one-to-two hour block that you are available for a Google Hangout with me to review course materials. I'll send you a meeting request to confirm the day/time.
What Will We Do?
If you choose to join a session, I will teach you one or more topics using my course materials FOR FREE. I like to be hands-on with the technologies whenever possible, so most sessions you will be using the cloud services at my direction, rather than listening to me drone on (power point). You'll get more out of a session if you have set up your own test AWS or GCP account BEFORE our call starts.
Let's learn together!

5 年Lynn, thanks for all you've done re sharing your knowledge, its been invaluable. I dont have a LL account, but I do hope you'll find my comments here of value. While (IMO) AWS is far ahead, GCP is making considerable strides as of late. That being said - I'm seeing alot more demand for AWS skills, hence my interest is there (for now). I've found very few courses that provide training on real world end to end cloud production pipelines; from how to build scalable, highly resilient and secure infra (< which in itself is a deep rabbit hole), incorporating best practices re version control (ie: git) and how to best manage IaC templates (CFN, Terraform), to proper documentation, building in (not bolting on) security, and being able to test/push your IaC code via CI/CD. And due to scope, this may require skimming some bits while diving deep on others, this is a truly useful suite of skills that would empower folks both new and experienced.
