Learn, lean and leverage...

Learn, lean and leverage...

We all want to be happy right?

Then why do we sometimes get in our own way,

Only to beat ourselves up

And start back at square one?

Let’s flip the script and get what we really want from life…

Happiness,

fulfilment

and success.

For me I want to enjoy my life and make the most of each day,

Waking up in the morning thinking

“I wonder what excitement I will experience today”

In fact sometimes as I wake up things come to my mind straight away,

My brain starts to come up with ideas as I drink my hot coffee in bed,

writing down three things I’m grateful for in my 6 minute diary.

Putting a plan together in my head then actioning it without fear or worries,

In complete control of my destiny.

Afterall this isn’t a practice life

it’s the only one we have,

we should make the most of it.

I don’t want to feel like I am behind or that somehow things should be moving faster than they are,

“It is what it is”

I say to myself when things take longer than I would like

You see there’s no point holding on to a sense of lack…

I want to be leader and an example for others.

A good way to look at it could be somebody who has great fitness levels.

We know they put the work in…

They’re committed,

Hardworking,

Consistent

And take on challenges.

They look and feel great.

The mind grows much the same as our fitness… with training.

You put the work in,

and each time you exercise your mind it gets a bit more resilient to stress, pressure and resistance,

You feel stronger,

You think clearer,

And you experience more happiness.

You wouldn’t run round the park once and expect to have the perfect body,

It’s the same with our mindsets too,

It takes purposeful practice.

So, here’s something I hope will be valuable to you today

Something that you can use to build the resilience, self-confidence and positive self-image needed to achieve your goals.

  1. 1. Learn

We all go through a process of learning in order to progress from where you are to where you want to be.

Being willing to learn is my biggest asset and one I am heavily committed to

and will be for the rest of my life,

Like a child who loves school and ready to learn I stay up until midnight 4 nights a week to listen to my coaching calls from America

On those calls there’s 1, 2 or 3 things I can take away and implement in my business and life straight away

They are like little bricks I use to create and develop my skills in order to have the biggest impact on my clients, my life and my legacy.

So learn as much as you can about the related field you want to progress in,

Whether that be books, practice or seeking expert advice soak up as much as possible and execute as soon as you can.

Like with football we learn by doing so implement, implement, implement.

2 Lean

So when you have all the learnings and information you need at that point to take that first step

Lean right into it as quickly as possible,

Regardless of how it feels.

Your body and brain might not like it but remember your behind the steering wheel here,

You’re in control

Find a way to make it happen.

Take certainty from me that you can do it and move ahead with confidence.

The feeling you will get from moving forwards is all the motivation you need to keep going.

Still with me?

Great,

You might be feeling a bit uncomfortable now as there is work to be done,

And it is you that will need to do it.

Good.

The further you are from the comfort zone the better results you get in the long run

but remember there’s always people out there who can help with this stuff

and there's amazing books like "Flow: The classic work on how o achieve happiness" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi which you can read..

Which brings me on to

3. Leverage

This one is key,

Right now, you have an abundance of options at your disposal.

Knowing where to look is key,

But they are there with a bit of thinking

Now I know sometimes it’s easy to think of what you don’t have

or what isn’t available

as a way to put things off and kicking it down the line,

I understand that.

Let me tell you a short story…

Earlier this week I was driving an electric Porsche sports car which can go from 0-60mph in less than 3 seconds.

I looked at what my options were to make this happen,

What could I do or who could I speak to?

What would that look like?

What help would I need?

All these questions.

Then as if by magic I had an idea,

A few messages later and it was a reality.

I had completely forgot that one of my life coaching clients actually owns one

He’s an amazing guy but struggles to be happy himself which we are working on that together

I think there’s a lesson there for all of us

So

look at who, what and where you have assets already in place,

Your friends,

Your audience,

Your available options,

and Leverage what you have so you can get what you want.

Now reading about these three L’s you may have some concerns or reservations,

maybe your busy,

maybe you don’t know what that would look like,

maybe you’re not sure or what it is that needs to change.

Then great… You’re at the first L.

You just need to learn what it is you want to achieve

and what would make you happy.

If that’s where you are then great,

Enjoy the process or trying out different things,

After all the pursuit of happiness is a lifetime quest not a destination.

I hope you have a great day

Mike
