Learn the Language of Love...the Language of Humanity!

We have see many people knowing many languages and they take efforts to learn new languages through hard work and patience therefore they could translate one language into another with ease of communication. This is a great skill to know many spoken and written languages and it helps a lot being an interpreter of foreign languages in the modern world.

How I wish I could learn the language of humanity! I wish I could translate the 'silence' into smiles, wish I could translate 'sadness' with happiness and translate 'depression' into hope and positivity, we wish to translate 'hatred' into love and we wish to translate 'racism' into inclusivity! Let us therefore learn the language of humanity, the language of equality and the language of universal love.

The Noted Biologist Mark Pagel in his July 2011 TED talk “How Language Transformed Humanity.” says "Language allows you to implant a thought from your mind directly into someone else's mind, and [that person] can attempt to do the same to you, without either of you having to perform surgery.”

The Famous Writer Emily Esfahani Smith, in her TED Talk, told the world that "happiness is not the answer to a healthy life, but rather, having meaning to it. So what does it mean to have a meaningful life? According to Smith, having a purpose in life gives it true meaning. If you have already found the reason for waking up every day, great! But, if like most of us, you are struggling to find a reason to live, then let's start small. Small gestures of giving back to the people living around you may be just as fulfilling as starting your own NGO. Any deed, whether big or small, can bring a warm smile on someone's face or make them want to live to see another day."

The language of humanity begins with being kind to one another. We are always so critical of each other and we forget to appreciate good things in people. We need to make a healthy practice to be appreciative of people around us and make them feel great. When was the last time have you smiled at your security guard at the gate of your office or home premises? Have you said thank you to your auto rickshaw wallah after he drops you to your destination? Whenever you meet your next door neighbour is it common that he wishes you good morning or you do? If you are taking the initiative then it is well and good but if not then it is your duty to take the initiative of greeting people nicely and being very polite to them whoever it is in front of you, a vendor, a supplier, a salesman or a chairman of a company, language of humanity teaches you to smile and be polite to every one.

In the words of Noam Chomsky, the father of modern linguistics with a Doctorate on formal models of language and cognition, "Homo sapiens is radically different from other species in numerous ways, too obvious to review. Possession of language is one crucial element, with many consequences. With some justice, it has often in the past been considered to be the core defining feature of modern humans, the source of human creativity, cultural enrichment, and complex social structure.

Hemakshi Malik in her article in The Medley "On the Inter-connectedness of Humanity, Nature, and Language" says "In all the chaos, we have forgotten to stay attuned to the environment with the cacophony emanating from materialism’s loudspeaker. We have forgotten to stand at ease amidst this banal marching of progress. In this increasingly complex world, our ideas have profoundly impacted the environment and us, and the once inexhaustible resources have begun to reach their limit. There is a need, now more than ever, to understand how we as individuals, and collectively as cultures, are associated with nature."

In the Language of Dignified Humanity, Indira Y. Junghare says that "Humanity is a part of the cosmos, one inseparable reality—constantly in motion, alive, organic, spiritual, and material at the same time. The language of humanity is also one language with different dialects and idiolects, which change depending on the needs of adjustment for survival. However, the language of human dignity of recognition and respect stands at the centre of humanity as the major language, equivalent to the language of food for human life’s survival."

If you have by now mastered the skill of using your words of kindness, then you can move forward to the next step which is buying the street kids some sweets or chocolates or spending an hour out of your busy day to teach them simple things of life and value of morals , or buying a small present for your domestic maid servant, or even assisting your driver in washing your car or leaving an excellent feedback about your waiter at the club or restaurant. There are several simple acts of kindness which are always appreciated by one and all. This is the universal language of humanity of treating all the human beings as equals and considering them as our own brothers and sisters which helps the human chain of love and care grow from strength to strength.

Thank you for a great article. I love rhyming, so here you are: "We all want to be safe and appreciated. Being kind that's how we can pay, how we can offer both in the most loving way".

I would like to say that one's act of kindness, or selfless service, or simple expression of gratitude to people does not go waste. It returns to oneself in one form or the other, which in turn prompts many more acts of kindness. The cycle continues. Thanks Kishore sir for your post.
