Learn How To Manage Your Time...

We all have the same 24 hours in a day. You have the same amount of hours as Richard Branson, Tony Robbins, etc., and as many hours as the greatest minds whoever lived. You have the same amount of time as they have, it’s what you do with it that matters. And... even if you are not consciously aware of it, there are actually endless possibilities.

All large projects are just a collection of hundreds and sometimes thousands of little steps. Everything starts with a small step! If you have an idea and you know what direction you want to go... take the first step and then take the next step, and the next step and go in the direction you have chosen. If you are going in the right direction, usually you will find that as you take each step it becomes less complicated and clearer in your mind, and being clear about where you are going makes everything easier.

Your own time management is crucial to your success, your ability to plan and manage will depend on being clear about your goal and learning/knowing which strategies are worth doing and which ones are not.

Create your own strategy on how are you going to get there, but don’t rush to implement a load of techniques/tips without asking yourself; Why am I doing this? How am I really spending my time? What do I get out of doing this?

Creating your own time management strategies can take time and you might surprise yourself how much more you can achieve if you believe in what you are about to do.

Try practicing the following tips for a week and see the difference.

A) Focus on YOUR GOAL. Be really clear about what it is! Stay focused and motivated, use a vision board and prompters to help you. 1. Set your long term goal. 2. Break your goal into small tasks/steps, which are a) Achievable. b) Have deadlines. c) Focus on one step at a time and get them done!

B) Plan ahead, daily, weekly and monthly. Prioritise all your tasks (must do, need to do, would like to do). Spend your time on what is important to achieving the goal. Make a to do list and review/refresh the list everyday. Be flexible where it counts. Set a timeline. Set reminders and know your deadline! Know your limits. Stop multitasking and learn to delegate. Learn to say NO!

C) Eliminate time wasting/time wasters. Communicate and prioritise with your team (even if your team is just you alone!). You must take control to maximise your time. Schedule your time: 1. Allow time for the unexpected. 2. Minimise and/or eliminate distractions. 3. Don’t make yourself too accessible... stop trying to please everybody. 4. Quit trying to be a perfectionist.

Start early. Don’t overthink. Don’t over commit. Take breaks. Be sure you have enough sleep and rest. It?s hard to be productive when you can barely open your eyes. The more relaxed you feel, the more productive you become and vice versa.

Whatever your priorities are at the moment, allocate your time and use it wisely, this is not a dress rehearsal, the live show of your life is happening right now you don’t get a second go of today!

Always plan with the end goal in mind. Have a great Day! JJ
