Learn how to explore for gold deposits in ground covered by laterite
Happy New Year 2022!
I am sharing the latest edition of my book, Gold Exploration in Tropical Landscapes, with all of you.
This is a guidebook for mineral exploration in areas covered with red laterite soils (which is about 1/3 of the earth's land mass). It is written from a grassroots exploration geologist perspective (mine), is richly illustrated with photos and diagrams, and presents real-life examples and case studies.
Tropical climates covered in this book are tropical rainforest, monsoon and savannah.
It's the 5th Edition and I think this book presents the best researched and the most useful soil/laterite/saprolite/duricrust classification system out there for mineral exploration. It also teaches the science behind supergene gold nugget formation and investigates the style and location of artisanal gold miners as vectors to primary ore.
I have uploaded my book onto ResearchGate. It is a satisfying feeling to share my book, knowing that it will allow others to jump lightyears ahead in their knowledge.
The total contents of this book qualify as 26 professional development hours towards professional geoscience association membership requirements.
I also teach this course material on site, to teams of exploration geologists and field technicians, in 1-2 week field programs.

3 年Congratulations. I have read the book briefly / quickly and it seems to me a great compilation. Highly recommended. When I have time, I will read it in detail and will make more comments. Cheers

3 年Thanks a lot for sharing your valuable ideas and experience, Danae. Your work will surely make the world a better place, for it will benefit the poorest of the poor in many gold exploration frontier regions. ?? ?? ??

3 年Thanks for sharing your knowledge with others, in this altruistic manner, Danae. This is not a common attitude and I applaud it.
