Why a pioneering community mental wealth approach in Moray could put Scotland on the global wellbeing map

Scotland is pioneering a "Mental Wealth" approach to mental health in Moray, investing nearly ￡1 million to shift the conversation from stigma to strength and connection. The Collaboration for Mental Wealth in Moray, led by led by the Moray Wellbeing Hub CIC and co-founded by Scotland’s National Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre , aims to transform mental health services through community-based research and co-design. This initiative fosters local empowerment, reduces stigma, and could position Moray as a global leader in mental health innovation.

New Report: Evaluating Digital Interventions for ADHD Diagnosis and Management in Adults within the UK

This report examines digital solutions for diagnosing and managing adult ADHD in the UK (excluding Scotland). Led by the Digital Mental Health Innovation Cluster and supported by Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre, the initiative explores UK-wide practices and digital innovations.

DHI Industry Engagement Plan 2024 – 2027

Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI) has launched its Industry Engagement Plan 2024–2027, focusing on helping Scottish SMEs, start-ups, and spin-outs bring innovations to health and social care markets. The plan prioritises collaboration with Top Tier NHS and social care suppliers to drive commercialisation, scale in Scotland, and access global markets. This approach aims to support innovation adoption, benefit citizens, and enhance supplier pipelines.

Self Research Institute and SafeWaters Foundation Partner to Enhance Maritime Safety and Combat Abusive Labor Practices

The Self Research Institute (SRI) and SafeWaters Foundation (SWF) have partnered to launch the SafeWaters app, enhancing maritime safety and combating abusive labor practices. Built on SRI’s secure Self Framework, the app allows workers to report rights violations, share locations, and access resources while ensuring privacy. This collaboration leverages blockchain and decentralized technologies to increase transparency and accountability in the fishing industry, benefiting both workers and regulatory authorities.

Beyond banning: Our digital world must be made safer for young people

Rather than banning social media for young people, policymakers should focus on making digital spaces safer. Drawing from public health strategies used for tobacco and road safety, they highlight the risks of digital harm while emphasizing the need for regulation, accountability, and better online protections. Age verification systems pose challenges, but social media platforms must prioritize young users’ well-being over commercial interests.

The NanoBio4Can Postdoctoral Programme's 2nd Open Call is opening soon!

The NanoBio4Can Postdoctoral Programme's 2nd Open Call is opening soon, offering 24 two-year fellowships in nanobiotechnology and cancer research. ECHAlliance member IZMIR BIOMEDICINE AND GENOME CENTER (IBG) is a project partner, supporting interdisciplinary training with industry collaboration. Fellows will gain cutting-edge research experience, soft skills, and career-enhancing opportunities.

IV Scientific and Practical Conference: The development of best practices in doctors of philosophy training

The IV Scientific and Practical Conference on PhD training, from Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University official will be held online on April 30, 2025. It will explore best practices in postgraduate medical education and research. The conference brings together students, educators, and healthcare professionals to discuss international standards, academic integrity, and innovative methodologies. Participants will gain insights into improving PhD training and research effectiveness, with a certificate awarded for attendance. Registration is free but mandatory.

Seven Point One - Looking for trial project partners in Europe

Seven Point One Inc. is seeking care home partners in Europe to trial AlzWIN, an AI-powered dementia screening tool. AlzWIN can be used during admission or for ongoing monitoring, requiring just one minute of voice-based testing. The pilot aims to detect early cognitive decline, enhance personalized care, and support caregiver decision-making. The tool is FDA-registered, ISO-certified, and has already identified over 9,000 high-risk dementia patients.

Parkers Mobile Clinic has launched a Telemedicine + AI Platform to improve healthcare access in underserved areas, particularly in Southeast Nigeria. The platform integrates AI diagnostics, telehealth consultations, and smart scheduling to enhance patient care. With a Health Education Hub and trained professionals, PMC360 is bridging health equity gaps and transforming healthcare delivery.
