Learn how to compress your images for a faster-loading website.

A common complaint I’ve heard from businesses about their website is that it takes too long for certain webpages to load. The culprit might be the size of the images on that page.

The slow loading website could be driving your customers away from your business and harming your sales. A study found that a half a second increase in webpage loading time resulted in a 20% drop in traffic and revenue!

As you can see in the image below, the optimized image is almost 70% smaller in size!

File sizes of 2, 6 or even 10 MB might seem small individually, but if you have a good visually appealing site (as you should), all these little images add up!

So use the video below to learn how to quickly reduce their size for free.

Check out this quick walkthrough video I made to show you how quick, simple, and COMPLETELY free it is to reduce your image size by almost 70%. The process is called compressing.

Step 1: Get a photo you’d like to add to your website. I’m using the free stock photo website, Unsplash, using which, I downloaded a free image graciously provided by Christian Mackie

Step 2: Open Website Planet’s free online image compressing tool.

Step 3: Upload your image and see the magic work. Click on ‘download’ to download the now-optimized image.

That’s it! Super simple right?

I would HIGHLY recommend optimizing all the images before you add them on your website.

I hope you found this video useful. Let me know if you have any questions or comments :)
