Learn how 16 Likes on LinkedIn kickstarted my startup in only 1 year!

1 year ago I made a question which I see every day on LinkedIn. I don't know how any of these questions turn out but here is the story how my question changed everything in my life:

In short: "I need the name for a company who can deliver an app"

NB: Video in Danish (please skip if you don't understand)

This was my first video (1 year ago) in a series of video's intended to document my adventure from being a full-time employee and how I ending up bootstrapping my startup from the bottom and up. The startup to be known LuggageHero.

In a series of LinkedIn posts and video's, I will start documenting (again) how it works to be running a startup in travel tech.

I will document my goals, milestones, and efforts to turn my business into the pioneer for storing luggage worldwide.

Near Future:

  • Launch LuggageHero in New York 2017
  • Target 20% Growth Month-over-month
  • Seed Investment within 9-12 months

Going from a question on LinkedIn to a business making revenue in only 1 year has confronted me with an ongoing question for the most part of my life:

Question: How do you always end up being so lucky?

I was only 13 years old when I started my first company. I was lucky I think. I hit the jackpot and sold the company as only 14 years old and didn't have to worry much about money until graduating from high school after ending up spending it all. But I have been asked a question that I would like to finally answer: "How do you always end up being so lucky?"

Answer: Lately I have been realizing that I am not lucky. But I often find myself in a situation of luck. But to be fair: I work fucking hard to get to where I am! Proving people wrong makes me happy and keeps being an ongoing motivation for me all the time.

Exit in 5 years!

What motivates me most is having a target. I promised my family to make a successful Exit in 5 years with LuggageHero (And that means I need to speed it up as average startups exit in 7 years)

And that brings me to the three bullet points of this post and what I have learned so far:

What has worked out for me:

  1. Don't just talk and talk. Execute. Do something and learn from it. I hate bullshit talking.
  2. Reach out and learn. Without people you are nothing!
  3. Take the risk. The first step was quitting my job and the second one was telling my family.

Do the above things (and a hell of a lot more than that) and the answer to my post is then: YES! 16 Likes can kick start your business in only 1 year!

Now it's your turn to take action ??

I personally don't believe in doing things halfway, so please don't leave this post without leaving your footprint as it's a major disappointment not to learn from anything you have put your time into!

So I urge you to either LIKE IT ?? SHARE IT ?? or DELETE ?? it from your feed after telling me why it sucks ?? Yes, please do this now. It won't hurt you ;-) And even better leave a COMMENT if you are thinking of making a startup yourself. I would love to hear, maybe someone from this feed can help you out!

See you out there! Thank you for reading through.
