Learn from the mothers...

Do you know that there are many vital leadership lessons we can learn from great leaders who do things without much fanfare yet they just faithfully and competently demonstrate great leadership skills in the home? 

They are called “mothers.” 

Now, let me explain:

1. GREAT LEADERS PUT THEIR HEART AND SOUL INTO THEIR PEOPLE WITH GENUINE CARE AND LOVE.

Moms know their purpose and moms love their people. I wish all the leaders in the workplace do the same don’t you?

2. GREAT LEADERS PASS ON THE CREDIT TO THEIR PEOPLE

Look at moms.It’s hard to find mothers who would always brag about how good they are at “mothering” and how stupid and inept their children are.

3. GREAT LEADERS MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.

Look at moms. They make things happen. Good leadership demands action. They step up and stand for something because they know these are duties and obligations expected from them

4. GREAT LEADERS ARE FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE

Look at moms. What they do now is important to them because they are so concerned with making sure that their family would have a good future.

5. GREAT LEADERS STRETCH AND CHALLENGE THEIR PEOPLE TO BECOME BETTER

Look at moms. They bear the pain of disciplining their kids balanced with a great deal of love and encouragement. They teach their kids to practice honesty, to have integrity, to be tough in times of adversity because they do not only want their people to perform better, great leaders want their people to become better people.

Don’t you wish your leaders would have this same spirit of wanting you and your team to tap into your potentials that you never knew was even there had it not been for them who pushed you to become a better version of yourself today compared to before?

So, let's learn from them and apply in our work context.
