A Data Scientist? Analyst? Engineer? Or a BI Analyst? Are you still baffled?

Companies hire for a variety of data science professions, each requiring a certain set of skills. In this article, we'll explain the differences between each position so you can decide which one you want to be.

In the previous newsletter edition, we covered the theoretical, technical, and business skills needed to become a data wizard. You must master all three to be successful in your position.

Let's now talk about the various data science roles:

Data Engineer

Data engineers are mostly in charge of converting raw data into useful data for analytical and machine-learning purposes.

They're also responsible for building data warehouses and maintaining the accuracy of data.

BI Analyst

The functions of a BI analyst and a data analyst overlap on numerous levels, although it can be said that a BI analyst has a reporting component to his job that a data analyst does not.

A BI analyst's job is to give business stakeholders the relevant data they require.

Data Analyst

In order to clean, evaluate, visualize, and present the information that the data contains, a data analyst must access the data on the company's database.

Consequently, a data analyst must be an excellent storyteller!

Learning several programming languages, such as SQL, Python, and R, and employing various data visualization tools, such as (Power BI and Tableau).

Data Scientist

A data scientist is someone who possesses the same skills as a data analyst but who also has the ability to use machine learning and deep learning to build models that can learn from historical data to generate future predictions that are more accurate.

MLOps Engineer

The purpose of ML Ops is to efficiently and effectively deploy data scientists' machine learning models in production.
