?? Intersectional Resources for creating Queer Inclusive Work Spaces. ??

Welcome back to another issue of “Learn. Connect. Grow.”

International Non-Binary Day was on the 14th July so we’re sharing a new article from Dee Whitnell discussing the nonbinaryphobia they have faced both outside of and within LGBTQ+ spaces, as well as their top tips on how to be a better ally to non-binary people.

Disability Pride Month continues and we have a range of educational resources for you to dive into, including an article from Ryan Zaman on how to centre the needs of your disabled friends and colleagues that dives into concepts like the Medical and Social Models of Disability.

Keep scrolling for additional resources on intersectional experiences of disability and queerness, non-binary leadership and the real impact of inclusive language.

Wishing you a lovely rest of your week,

Michael Stephens?(he/they)

WCS FEATURE:

Supporting your disabled friends and colleagues.

Ryan Zaman shares a Queer perspective on disability inclusion.

The Medical Model of Disability dictates that someone’s condition comes first before the person, and having a disability means there is something wrong with them… The Social Model of Disability on the other hand, moves the burden of being labelled as a ‘problem’ or ‘difficult’ away from the person with the disability, and places the impetus to make positive change on society and highlights the need to eliminate barriers.” - Ryan Zaman
