I know that February is a shorter month but it still feels like I managed to pack so much in! From headshots to food, property interiors to the Orwell Bridge - it’s been a busy 29 days, and if you’re here to feast on visuals and fresh photographs this months round-up won’t disappoint!
One of the loveliest elements of my job is returning to previous clients to update and refresh their images. Obviously, it’s great to see people again and catch up with them, but it also means that they are continuing to grow and develop, and I am honored to be considered a part of that growth.
I was delighted to return to Notcutts to create more delicious food images for their upcoming Easter and Mother’s Day menus and to Barnes Construction to photograph their newly promoted Director’s and their latest cohort of apprentices.
Likewise, Unity Online are growing at an impressive rate and it was Simply lovely to be back there for updated headshots and to add images of their new staff to the portfolio. I think there is great value in making new members of a team feel included with gestures like these.
It was also great to meet the Case Wealth Management team to build a portfolio of images for their website and some team images. These photos will really keep consistency across their commercial branding and introduce clients to the faces behind the names.
For something completely different I made my way to Stitchworks, tucked away in Gobbitts Yard, Woodbridge. This is a business with purpose - repairing and altering clothes and garments as well as offering sewing groups and classes. I think this is a great example of how professional images can benefit every business – regardless of size or industry.
In a similar way Poppy's Pantry in Wymondham is a business with people at its heart – a wholefood store that is one of a number of local businesses within Realise Futures. Photographing their wonderful team and the store perfectly aligns with my personal goal of working with more organisations that are close to my heart and when Suffolk Community Foundation asked me to photograph their Trustees and staff, in both group and in individual headshots, I Simply didn’t think twice.
I was also asked to showcase the interior of a property to entice potential buyers on Rightmove. My images capture the essence of each space, inviting viewers to imagine their future in this beautiful property. The housing market is in such a funny place at the moment that it makes sense to do what you can to stand out.
I also made good use of my downtime (and some perfect weather conditions) to put my camera equipment through its paces and headed down to the Orwell Bridge shoreline. Here’s a little taste of the outcome…..
This passion project aligns perfectly with the brief of a client who has commissioned some images of Suffolk landmarks and a great opportunity to add to my fine art collection.
Each project has presented its own set of challenges and triumphs, but they all share a common thread—a commitment to storytelling through the lens. As we arrive in March and the first quarter of the year is almost done I can’t wait to see what else 2024 has in store for us all.
