LEAP IN VALUE
LEAP IN VALUE
I asked myself if sweet corn could honestly be that good. So good that I was driving an hour to check it out. A trade-off of high gas prices, time, and road construction for a couple cobs of corn.?
It was. And not just the corn.
My sister and her husband live in a small rural town celebrating sweet corn. They invited me to join them and eat as much corn as I wanted.?
My day improved when I saw the giant vats of hot corn, buttered and salted, such a treat and waiting to be eaten.?
I was happily eating when I took a minute and looked around the crowd of corn eaters. There were hundreds of people talking, laughing, and sitting on the hillside.
No exaggeration. Hundreds of people simply celebrate each other by spending time with one another. No pretense or dress code.?
In business, we often talk about a “leap in value .†As I was sitting on the grassy hillside, I could not help but pair a leap in value with this very evening. Surprisingly, corn gave us the drawing card, a reason, a chance to create and build our value with one another.
Who would have thought?
I experienced an impressive leap of value in small town festivals, and yes, the hour drive was worth it.
