Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.– from the novella ‘Worstward Ho’ (1983) by Samuel Beckett
Failure is an inevitable and necessary aspect of growth. Growth comes from trying new things. Leaning into your current perceived limitations. Emphasis on perceived. Perception is reality. See things through a lens of limit or expansion and you will get more of the same. An open mindset allows for and appreciates the reality of expanding outside your current capacity. Understanding the reality and purpose of "failure" is that it sets the stage for expansion of your capacity. There is the necessary openness to reflection to process the "failure" such that it is experienced as learning and an increase in your capacity in a specific realm. As importantly, this mindset builds upon itself thereby enhancing confidence, competence, resilience, commitment, grit, creative thinking and a fearlessness in not just the willingness but a desire to step into challenges. There. There is "failure". An inevitable and necessary aspect of growth. #growth #mindset #leadership #personaldevelopment #motivation #growth #expansion #perception #failure #failureispartofsuccess #capacity #capacitybuilding #confidence #resilience #competence #commitment #stretch
