"Special Operators cannot be created during a crisis." - Special Operations Truth
A couple of weeks ago, the team at Gemba Academy, ask me to share my thoughts and experiences as a Toyota Trained Manufacturing Executive and Special Forces Officer on how to Lead and Prepare for a Crisis.
Great leaders prepare their teams and organizations for a variety of crisis and unknowns prior to a crisis. "Toyota creates detailed plans for and manages crisis' such as epidemics and pandemics, earthquakes, tsunamis, and economic downturns; but, unlike many organization, the first thing Toyota does after a crisis is to begin problem solving the root causes of the crisis." Glenn Uminger, retired Toyota VP (TEMA)
In this webinar and podcast you will learn how to use these lean tools and processes to not only survive the current crisis, but, more importantly prepare for the next crisis....and there will be another crisis.
So, join me to learn the language and concepts of Crisis Operations planning, Blue teaming and Red Teaming, War-gaming, and problem solving a crisis like Toyota, Menlo Innovations, and our nations elite forces.

4 年Sam MacPherson: This was an excellent “information dense” presentation that incorporates tons of core concepts that I’ve been exposed to in my reading and experience thus far. Impressive. One area where I’m a bit ignorant is how JIT supply chains are advantageous in a crisis. It seems to me that they are streamlined to extract maximum value from relatively stable conditions, but are really vulnerable in more dynamic environments. Do you have any specific resources you could recommend for me to build up knowledge on this topic?

4 年Sam - awesome presentation. In particular, what drove it home for me was your answer to the last question: "rigorously and systematically prepare for the known future "white swan" events in order to be able to work through the larger (and more dangerous) unknown "black swan events". Every lead team of an organization needs to watch this video. Thank you!
