Lean Principles in the organization.

Lean refers to many names lean manufacturing lean office lean enterprises lean production flexible mass production and others. Toyota is usably credited with creating the concept of lean under the Toyota production system. Before 1950 however the credit has, he learns #process from the Ford Motor company. three concepts are fundamental to the understanding of lean thinking value, waste, and process of creating value without waste. In today variation of Toyota production system some like identify the 8P of lean thinking as purpose, process, people, pull, prevention, partnering, planet and perfection.

Essentially #lean is centered on making obvious what adds value by reducing everything else. some people only look at lean as a set of tools to apply within the organization to eliminate the #waste. however, the Toyota production system is much more and involved in developing culture in the #organization that promote the continuous improvement and development of all people in the organization. Far too many system and management practices in the typical organization prevent operator from doing their best work to satisfy the customer.

one of more dramatic examples of success using Toyota production system was the joint venture between Toyota and general motor at united motor manufacturing Inc. in old GM. Plant that operate from 1984 to 2010. the success of the plant was demonstrated by literally going from being the worst plant in GM system to being one of top plant in less than two years. part of the initial agreement was that GM management team would follow the direction of Toyota management and learn the TPS process.
