?I've enjoyed working with C-level teams immensely. My primary objective was to ensure that when the highest-paid leaders gathered, the meetings were as productive and beneficial to employees and the company as possible.

?I want to share with you this straightforward and extremely visual approach! Furthermore, there are actions you can take right away even if you're not the meeting's facilitator.

Facilitation steps

1. If the objectives for the meeting weren't mentioned in the invitation, ask the attendees what they hope to achieve. The facilitator could assist them and write down the responses, or they could use post-it notes to record what they say.
2. What concrete, tangible results must be created in our time together, based on those objectives? Or, to put it another way, ask them how they will know if we are successful after a specific time frame.
3. Inquire about their expectations of each other regarding ground rules for the meeting or what to do in the event of a disagreement. In essence, you want to encourage the participants to cooperate with one another. Examples could be that scheduled breaks are respected, cell phones are turned off, only one speaks, or just that we are to have fun during the time together.
4. The participants should be told that at the conclusion of the time spent together, we will reflect on what we have accomplished and ask ourselves what else added value to the day besides the tangibles.
