Almost everyone is aware about Lean & Toyota Production System & the tremendous impact that it has in improving efficiency & eliminating waste, but many people are confused about the many terms used in lean like kaizen, kanban, jidoka, muda, etc.

Just knowing the lean terminologies is not enough, but it is also important to know the exact definition of each term & how to implement them. Here are given some of the most common lean terminologies & their brief description:

Bottleneck Analysis

Q. What is Bottleneck Analysis?

Ans. Identify which part of the manufacturing process limits the overall throughput and improve the performance of that part of the process.

Ans. Improves throughput by strengthening the weakest link in the manufacturing process.
