Lean is not a fashion, but a Strategy for leveraging company growth and earnings!
Since completing my Lean Six Sigma Black Belt I learnt that Lean is a long term strategy for a company. Lean must first start by deploying clear vision to the entire organisation of the company. All employees of the company must understand the company vision and must also understand all KPIs and measurements used. Cascading vision consistently through all departments in a company is also a key for success.
I noticed that most companies launch multiple projects simultaneously but do not allow sufficient time to implement these projects successfully. Consequently, companies consider Lean as being accomplished only after a couple of years of implementation, but in fact only 10% of the power of this approach is being realised.
Also companies mistakenly consider that Lean is a matter of a few, selected experts. All resources of a company must be involved in improving the operations and administration of a company because there are more improvement ideas in the brains of all employees of a company than in the brains of a few experts.
And remember Pareto rule - no more than 20% of a successful Lean transformation comes from the tools, 80% comes from people. So, please respect and recognise your people!
