Leaky Sink is No Problem With HomeServe Plan

Debra had lived in her home for decades and her home systems were aging. She wasn't worried, however, since she had a HomeServe plan to protect her from the financial shock of an unexpected repair.

Debra I. of Cleveland was recovering from an eye procedure when she noticed that there was a wet spot underneath her bathroom sink. Because of her eye issues, she hadn’t noticed it earlier and now she was concerned.

“I had to go beneath the sink to get something, and I noticed the cloth I had under there was stained,” she said. “I said, ‘what is going on?’ and so I removed everything under the sink.”

Although Debra was concerned, she had a clear course of action: She called HomeServe. She had an Interior Plumbing and Drainage plan she knew would protect her from the financial shock and inconvenience of an unexpected plumbing repair.

Debra had lived in her home for several decades, so, as her home systems aged, she had occasion to use her HomeServe plan nearly a dozen times. She has saved more than $1,800 since November 2021 on a variety of issues from water leaks to backed up and slow drains.

“I pay monthly (for the plan), and I just call if I have a problem with the plumbing,” she said, adding that the plan has worked so well for her that her son had added a plan to protect her interior electrical systems.

On this particular occasion, Debra called HomeServe’s Chattanooga, Tenn.-based operations center, and Geisel by HomeServe, serving the greater Cleveland area, was dispatched. A technician, Roger, arrived at Debra’s home to investigate and quickly realized that it wasn’t a leaky drain or fresh water supply pipe, as Debra had suspected, but a broken fixture that was allowing fresh water to spill down the back of the sink and puddle in the vanity cabinet beneath it.

Luckily for Debra, Roger had a quick fix, and he was able to make the repair that morning, saving her nearly $200 through her HomeServe plan.

“I’m very happy with Roger,” she said. “He was able to work with me on my repair and everything worked out fine.”

She also was glad to have the issue resolved with little fuss. With HomeServe, Debra not only saved money, but could be confident that the technician dispatched to her home would be a qualified, licensed and insured professional.

“I would have had to get someone to fix it,” Debra said. “Maybe my son could have done it, but he thought that (the problem) was with the pipes, so I was going to have to find somebody.”?
