Leagues work to advance our movement

The CUNA-League system is unparalleled in our ability to get results for our members through bold, fierce, 360-degree advocacy.

The success of our system is only possible because of the incredible work our Leagues do every day. Just look at what they’ve been able to accomplish recently:?

  • Get bills signed into law. In recent weeks we’ve seen governors sign bills in South Carolina, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania,?Michigan, Maryland, and Illinois. These wins make it easier for credit unions to operate and serve members in their states.?
  • Engage with policymakers. Last Friday the MD|DC Credit Union Association conducted an in-person roundtable discussion with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Rohit Chopra. The director has stated he wants to engage more with community-based financial institutions, and he spent last Friday talking to credit union leaders.
  • Thought leadership. League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates President Samantha Beeler wrote a great article in The Capitolist about how any additional interchange regulations would harm credit unions and consumers.

Each of these furthers our advocacy work and shows how Leagues champion their credit unions, so credit unions can be there for their members.

Thanks for all the great work.?
