As we wrap up the month of May, we reflect on an incredible array of events that brought our community closer and fostered growth and understanding. Here’s a recap of the highlights!

Philly Gala: A Hindu Whodunnit

Date: May 18, 2024 Location: City Winery, Philadelphia

Our Philadelphia Gala was a magnificent celebration of Hindu Dharmas with a "Hindu Whodunnit" twist that made it a tremendous success! Attendees enjoyed an evening of mystery, laughter, and suspense while delving into important discussions impacting the Hindu-American community.

The highlight of the night? It was undoubtedly the moment when our attendees, donning their detective hats, cracked the intriguing case of who stole the... well, you had to be there to find out!?

This unique twist added an extra layer of excitement to our celebration of Hindu Dharmas, making the night truly unforgettable. Thank you all for joining us and making the event a tremendous success!

Instagram Live: Mind Matters-Navigating Mental Health

May was Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the importance of prioritizing our emotional well-being in today’s fast-paced world.?

One of the highlights of our initiative was an Instagram Live session with Dr. Kavita Pallod Sekhsaria, a licensed clinical psychologist and HAF Board Member.?

Dr. Sekhsaria discussed how to recognize when a friend needs mental health support, the stigma around seeking that support in our community, and the misconceptions about therapy.?

4. Dharma Ambassador Training Program

Dates: May 30 - June 5, 2024 Location: DA training

Our May Dharma Ambassador Certification was the 65th consecutive month of offering this free training to the Hindu-American community. We had a two-hour-long interactive session where participants learned how to provide a narrative from within the Hindu community to ensure that our religion is taught accurately and on par with other religions.

Join our program for North American residents to promote accurate teaching of Hinduism, gain techniques to present Hinduism to non-Hindus, and handle sensitive questions.?
