Leading in Value Driven Ways

Leading in Value Driven Ways

What are the key obstacles to value driven leadership? Find out more by watching this video:

Leading in Value Driven Ways is a two day programme at The University of Cambridge Judge Business School.

Overview

Take a broader view. Value-driven organisations are the future.

Effective leaders are able to guide individuals and teams in ways that enhance the long-term performance of their organisation. In order to do this, leaders need to understand the meaning and purpose of their leadership and then be able to communicate it to those being led. Developing your self-awareness requires a deeper understanding of how your mind and internal motives work. This is a fundamental and essential first step which leaders often fail to recognise.

Acquiring this greater level of awareness sits within an approach to thinking that we refer to as "moral architecture". As a central decision-maker, we will help you learn the skill to situate yourself in a broader social environment assessing the consequences of your own actions and strategies.

Topics covered include:

  • A comprehensive exploration of what social responsible leadership entails
  • Why your values often do not align with your actions and decisions
  • How to develop strategies that prevent you and others from being distracted away from the values you really want to pursue
  • How to identify the pitfalls of maintaining values in the context of competitive pressures and cultural clashes
  • How market shares can be gained or even created by value-driven operation

This programme counts as one course for those completing the Cambridge Judge Business School General Management Certificate of Achievement. On completing the GMCA you will be eligible to become an associate member of Cambridge Judge Business School's global network of graduates and business-focused University of Cambridge alumni, faculty and staff.
