? Expecting Transparency?
Start by showing yours! ??
Great teams need visible leaders. I have a team of 10 people at DXM now and have led teams of up to 200 amazing individuals. ??
We spend a lot of time setting goals, standards, and expectations for our teams. ??
But how often do we consider our own commitments to them? ??
Remember: Leadership is a 2-way street! ??
Here’s a thought:
What if you had one clear slide in your team’s playbook detailing your commitment to them? ??
Think about it:
? How You Will Lead
? Share your guiding principles for leadership & your approach to supporting each team member. ??
? Coaching, Training & Development
? Be specific about how you plan to grow their skills & what they can expect from you in their development journey. ??
??
Skill Growth: Specify the methods you will use to help team members enhance their skills—be it through workshops, one-on-one sessions, or mentorship programs.
Development Journey: Clarify what team members can expect from you regarding feedback, resources, and opportunities for advancement.
Give the all the required tools & study material if required by them
? What They Can Expect from You
? Things like open communication, honesty, authenticity, fairness, and kindness. ????
??
i always ask them to keep me on my toes & giving giving me feedbacks when i lag behind in delivering the promised thing. it has given me immense growth in my work & career.
When you make your commitments clear, it changes everything! ??
It builds trust, drives alignment, and fosters an open, accountable culture. ??
Add this “Leadership Commitment” to your playbook, right alongside the team’s standards & expectations. ??
Because leadership isn’t just about what they do; it’s about what you bring to the table too! ???
What is one of your commitments? ??
