Leading the Pack with Love.

Do pet parents make for better leaders?

Several studies seem to suggest so. That’s not all.

Apparently, your furry baby also influences the kind of leader you are. So, depending upon whether you have a cat or a dog as a pet, your personality as a leader is impacted, suggest studies. Having a pet can enhance careers and help climb the corporate ladder.

How? Let’s see.

1. Positive Liaisons- In a 2018?study?from Banfield Pet Hospital (US), 62% of surveyed executives said that childhood pets made a positive impact on their ability to build rapport with co-workers and clients; and 79% believed that co-workers with pets were hard workers. Personal relations are key to being a good leader.

2. Creativity- Creativity is the cornerstone of a good leader. Be it difficult situations, people problems, or routine ones, finding creative solutions is empirical. Pet parents, who often find themselves observing their pets dealing with challenges in a resilient fashion, tend to be more creative in their own problem-solving abilities too.

3. Empathy- Unconditional Love and empathy from one’s dog are one of the biggest treasures. An article in Business Grad’s association says- “The Banfield Pet Hospital survey found strong parallels between having pet ownership and leadership skills. Some 92% of surveyed executives attributed pets to have helped them develop the ability to run teams with discipline, and 79% regarded pet ownership as important to developing better organizational skills.”

People living with dogs can understand the importance of ‘bio-empathic leadership’, which is the ability to look at things from nature’s point of view. These types of leaders help nurture their organizations, thereby, becoming key players.

4. Non-verbal communication-?Observing your pet is how one communicates. This key skill of non-verbal communication comes in handy in negotiations and meetings which is important for a good leader.

?5.?Curiosity for the wins- While cat parents are supposed to have a sharper sense of curiosity, dog parents also get a knack for sniffing things first which proves to help them largely in the corporate world too.

Most CEOs around you are pet parents.

Pets not only bring in love and warmth but also hone our personalities and build our character better.?

More on this next Tuesday! Have a good week.
