Here are some thoughts on how to deal with overzealous people in a leader's team.

Leaders often mismanage team members with this attribute when they could actually take advantage of the value they bring to the team.

While it is true that they could have adverse effects on the leader and the rest of the team, it is the leader's responsibility to help them moderate their zeal and also take advantage of each opportunity that their display of overzealousness presents.

Bouts of display of overzealousness present teachable moment opportunities that benefit the whole team and help the leader to achieve her mandate.
