Who comes to your mind as a leader? Obviously the person who walks the talk right, who inspired you to do more without they micromanaging your work ,who always kindles curiosity in you ,they directly or indirectly empower you
I always remember one leader who I was associated with 33 years back while I was working in a manufacturing firm of energy meters in which we embarked on an initiative to convert their portfolio into electronic energy meters .His leadership style still stays afresh with me. If I distill down his leadership characteristics through an acronym LEAD:
L: Lead by example -. He was only a consultant, not a COO and not a CEO, but the charisma that he carried that even they would listen to his words of wisdom. He clearly demonstrated the behavior and attitude that any company would wish to see in their employees. He would always be punctual, be caring for others and had a humane touch
E: Encouraging experimentation– He encouraged experimentation and risk-taking. By providing resources for innovation and experimentation, recognizing and rewarding creative ideas, and created a safe environment where failures were seen as opportunities to learn and improve.
A: Analytical mindset – He would always go through structured process .His analytical skills through questioning the right way will make you think. His curiosity and questioning will not tear you down but will uplift you and empower you.

D: Direction through a clear Vision and Support – A very important trait to transform from one state to state , since that time in the organization we had only electro mechanical meters and we were in the pursuit of rejigging the entire portfolio into electronic energy meters
?In the ?all-time classic book of “Good to Great” by Jim Collins in which he describes why some companies make the leap and others don’t, he clearly explains that their research team was shocked to discover the type of leadership to achieve such greatness .Such companies had Level 5 leadership?during the Pivotal transitioning years
Level 5 leadership is all about building enduring greatness through a paradoxical blend of personal humility and professional will .These Level 5 leaders then on boarded a set of right people onto their enterprise by building a superior executive team and then they figured out the best path to greatness.
Level 5 Leadership = Personal Humility + Professional Will.
By taking a proactive and collaborative approach, leaders can help to drive successful digital transformation, creating a more efficient, innovative, and competitive organization.
