The conductor is the highest leadership position among all the musicians in the orchestra. They are given the role to interpret the music of the composer and ensure that the orchestra remains in time and interprets the music rightly.
For the conductor to have an amazing performance, he needs to turn his back against the crowd and face the musicians performing. This picture right here sends a very important message, which is being focused on the right people that you need in your life to excel.?
Leadership lessons from a Conductor
Every piece of music is clear and detailed in the conductor’s mind as he’s leading. He envisions the outcome of each performance and leads the orchestra to get the desired results.
The conductor can’t focus on the crowd and their small talks/opinions, varying facial expressions and expect to deliver an amazing performance - he will only be distracted and soon enough, starts feeling like a failure.?
He needs to block out every other distracting sound and movement so he can control the flow of the music/sound?
Many times, we listen to the wrong set of people that have no involvement or play any role in our lives.?
The sad part is that we place too much importance on people that we don’t need to take us to the next level.?
The conductor knows who is important to him and he focuses on them, from the musicians to the sound and the sequence, he places importance on these areas and people to help him achieve the general goal.

On the other hand, we have the crowd filled with different kinds of people.?
Whatever category of people you find in your life, you can’t put all of them together in a box. You need to know the most important people and focus on them.
You need to understand that not everybody is going the same direction as you are. Not everybody’s opinion is valid for the path you are taking.
2. Lead from the front and be visible
The conductor stands in front of the orchestra so he can lead them accurately. He is present and active with the instrumentalists to score every performance.
Leadership involves having a vision, you need to see where you are going and who you are leading as well. Sight here does not refer to just the physical eyes, you need to have a mental image of your next phase.?
Finally, always remember to understand your goal and vision to help you block out all the negativities.?
