Leading with an open heart

The past weeks have been a interesting journey for me. I have softened a bit. I am capable of keeping my heart open in situations where before I would have closed it of. To be honest, every now and than it feels terrifying and it requires my highest consciousness to be aware of my response.

According to the famous holistic psychologist Carl Jung, we have both feminine and masculine energy in our ′systems′ (regardless of gender). The feminine energy is more related to ′being′, ′receiving′, ′heart′, ′intuition′ and the masculine energy is more related to ′focus′, ′doing′, ′giving′, ′mind′.

In our society the masculine energy is still very dominant. Especially within leadership positions. Both men and women are more connected to their masculine energy then to their feminine energy. Many of us feel a disbalance in our society, in our economy, in healthcare and in many other structures or systems.

What if this disbalance is a mirror for the disbalance in ourselves? What if we (and our ancestors) have created the world we live in and we have the possibility to make new choices? What if leaders would open up for their own feminine energy?

In my own humble process I can assure you it is worth the journey, but it is not for the faint hearted. It requires you to look inside of yourself and to feel and see your own greatest fears. Connecting with your own heart and connecting from heart to heart scares sometimes the shit out of us. In a split second we feel like we have to protect ourselves, our opinions, our values, our... .

I invite you to connect with your heart, right now. And ask this very simple question. What does my heart long for?

Let me guess, it is not about reaching the next milestones in your company, it is not about winning a award, it is not about buying a bigger house. When you really tune into your heart′s desires it will be about peace, love and connection - or something that is aligned with these three values.
