Understanding Meetings through the DISC styles

Leading a Meeting - "C" STYLE - Conscientiousness.

"Meetings include details, documentation, and data."

Understanding the needs of our team members helps us work better together. Using a DISC assessment to identify your dominate style and the style of your team members can help you find ways to work better together.

What is important to a "C" during a meeting?

  • Conduct an in-depth review of the pros and cons before the meeting.
  • Punctuality is essential so be on time or a little early, if possible.
  • Follow proper procedures/protocol.
  • Rationally and logically explain your position.
  • Weigh words carefully and be tactful and clear.
  • Allow time for the leader to process.
  • Requires solid proof before a decision is considered.

What to expect?

  • Provides formal, task-oriented, detailed agenda, distributed well in advance.
  • Assigns a timekeeper and a note-taker to record meeting details.
  • Utilizes facts and logical reasoning.
  • Accepts only credible sources and data.
  • Expect scrutiny over any issues or questions.
  • Don't push for a decision or result.
  • Inclined to assign a more detailed analysis to take place outside of the meeting

If "C" Styles value details, documentation, and data during meetings, what can you do to prepare for meetings with them? How can you be sure you get what you need from the "C" style?

Understanding the needs of your team allows us to communicated better and be more productive. Contact me to have your team take the DISC assessment and I can lead your team through a presentation on understanding what the report means.
