???LEADING WITH IMPACT ??

???LEADING WITH IMPACT ??

August is a funny old month; lots of us in the northern hemisphere think of it as ‘the summer month’ because of how school holidays are structured but it doesn’t fit anywhere notable in the seasonal cycle. In fact, it’s closer to the autumn equinox than it is to the summer solstice. It can be very quiet when everyone’s away or, as with this year, it can be inexplicably busy with lots of project delivery and new requests for impact advisory support.?

In its own way August does mark a bit of a turning point: for those lucky enough to go away and get a fresh perspective it can mark the close of one chapter and the start of a new one. Indeed, it is the most popular month for employees to resign!

I think we should lean into these little in-year chapters more. I had my own such shift this week when I dialled into a coaching session with the brilliant Giles Hutchins from a campsite in France. He encouraged me to use my physical absence from the office to look back at how much Greenheart has evolved in recent times (including through periods of real pressure) and return to a new, golden, next chapter. Even just consciously acknowledging the significance of leaving and returning somewhere gives us the chance to appraise where we are and adjust our energy for the next phase.?

On which note, the new UK government has its hands full trying to get the country’s net zero progress back on track, as Fern from our Planetary Health team reports this month.? We also look at data as a critical tool for decision making on impact as well as some of the practical things we’ve learnt as we nurture our own regenerative culture at Greenheart.?

Whether you’ve had a break or not, I hope this finds you well and raring for your next chapter - whatever it brings.?
