Leading into the Future of Business Aviation

On March 10, the Falcon 6X business jet, powered by two cutting-edge PW812D engines, successfully completed its first flight from Dassault Aviation’s assembly center in Bordeaux-Mérignac, France. We congratulate Dassault on achieving this milestone and take great pride in helping make it possible.

This milestone is a testament to the exceptional quality, reliability, value and performance of the award-winning PW800 family. Using the most environmentally sustainable and high-performance technologies, the engine offers double-digit improvements in fuel burn, emissions, noise and maintenance times.

As the most advanced engine technology available in the high-flying, long-range business jet market, we are very proud the PW800 was honored with the laureate in the Business Aviation – Propulsion category by Aviation Week Network in March 2019, just months after entering service.

It’s appropriate that this latest achievement arrives during Canada’s National Engineering Month, a testament to the innovative spirit and engineering excellence that developed this game-changing technology. Thank you to the entire team across Pratt & Whitney Canada who designs, manufactures and supports these engines.

Pilots and passengers alike are telling us how they love flying on PW800-powered aircraft. The engine is the quietest in its class and passengers can enjoy an unmatched experience with an exceptionally quiet and comfortable cabin. Once the Falcon 6X enters service, PW812D operators will also benefit from the peace of mind offered by our PW800 Eagle Service? Plan (ESP? Program), the most comprehensive hourly maintenance plan in the industry.

The expertise, ingenuity and teamwork of our people around the world and our investments in research and development are the driving forces behind our market-leading position across all our aviation segments. Our company is Canada’s largest R&D investor in the aerospace sector and fourth in the country – all industries combined.

Pratt & Whitney Canada capped 2020 with two extraordinary milestones; Dassault’s roll out of the Falcon 6X with the PW812D, the newest member of our family, and the 50,000 PT6 turboprop delivery, the engine that started it all. We continue to lead into the future through the PT6 E-Series?, a PW800 family that continues to perform in service with 45,000 hours accumulated on the Gulfstream G500 and G600, and other world-class products and services engineered to meet our customers’ evolving needs and the changing aviation landscape.

It’s 20 years back, in these days, when in Longueuil I attended the assembly of the 1st ATFI Demo engine that laid the foundations for PW800. Congrats PWC.
