The Leading Edge of Manufacturing

The Leading Edge of Manufacturing

Depending on the headlines you read, manufacturing is either an industry of the past or being overtaken by artificial intelligence. Of course, neither is true. Modern manufacturing is strong, employs more than 12 million Americans directly and is transforming for the better, while improving lives and livelihoods.

Still, it can be difficult to make sense of it all, to sort through fact and fiction and understand the demands of the modern marketplace.

That is one of the reasons the National Association of Manufacturers created the Leading Edge thought leadership program. Leading Edge brings together executives from companies of all sizes with business luminaries to focus on emerging business issues and trends that are impacting manufacturing today.

In webinars and at executive forums, participants hear from thought leaders and subject matter experts as they deliver the latest perspectives on mission-critical topics like advanced manufacturing technology, cybersecurity, sustainability and supply chain performance.

We have two great events this month:

On May 11, join us for a webinar on The Digital Transformation in Manufacturing and hear directly from industry experts Bob Ibe of General Electric and PTC's JP Provencher, who will discuss how this digital transformation is changing the landscape of manufacturing as we know it. Sign up here.

On May 23, the NAM hosts an Executive Forum on Supply Chain Innovation in Houston, Texas. The program will include an armchair discussion with ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance about his partnership with suppliers through the recent challenging environment for the oil and gas industry, a panel discussion on the NAM’s member survey on supply chain strengths and weaknesses and presentations by manufacturing leaders on emerging best practices for deploying data to improve supply chain performance. Sign up here.

There’s never been a more exciting time to be a manufacturer in the United States, and there’s never been a greater need to stay on the leading edge of industry trends.
