Leading for Decades; It's Not the Player But the Team

The nation's premiere lawyer's publication, the ABA Journal, extolled attorney as "plucky" nineteen years ago.

Plucky - as in brave.

Actually the publication said Campbell was EITHER plucky or "crazy" but why split hairs? Campbell was leading the charge against forcing consumers into a costly and unfair process that would cost claimants in termite damage cases to spend $50-65,000 to try their cases before arbitrators who were almost always old white men who represented the same big companies consumers were suing.

That struck the lawyers at Campbell Law PC as an unfair scam. It was.

Bad companies knew that by making it too expense to resolve claims of wrongdoing, they could always get away with cheating.

And they did.

Believing that they were protected by a rigged system, the bad actors got worse.

At the time, Campbell and his firm were at the forefront of battling mandatory consumer arbitration because, he argued, bad companies would get worse if they thought they could force claims to a secret forum with unfair arbitrators that were beholden to the big companies who have repeat business for arbitrators.

The end result of the coordinated campaign in the Courts and Congress was that the primary arbitration association reformed to avoid regulation or potential court decisions that they were only pretending to be a neutral forum.

Thanks to these efforts, consumer arbitration before the AAA is now a fair forum.

And things started to happen that the bad companies came to regret.
