Leading the Charge: How Phibro is Shaping a Sustainable Future through Animal Health

By Glenn David

Chief Financial Officer, Phibro Animal Health

At Phibro, the powerful connections between people, animals and the planet are our driving force. This same connection inspires our global team to advance our purpose: optimizing animal health and nutrition for better lives and a more sustainable world. This purpose unites Phibro’s business segments and aligns seamlessly with today’s ESG and corporate responsibility standards.

We recently published Phibro’s third annual ESG Report, highlighting our progress across these vital areas. This report represents our fifth year of published environmental and employee data, with each report including three years of data. Our ESG Report features several areas that reflect our approach to sustainability:

  • We outlined our commitments and actions on responsible antibiotic use, including the five sector-wide antibiotic stewardship principles. This commitment to responsible antibiotic use is integral to our mission of promoting animal health while safeguarding public health.
  • We know vaccines are one of the most important tools available to protect animal health, so we detailed our recent advancements in vaccine development, expansion and distribution.
  • Our global #TeamPhibro brought inspiring examples of community-impacting social responsibility initiatives. These personal narratives highlight our global efforts to give back and support the communities in which we operate.
  • Our initiatives demonstrate that healthy livestock can significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. By preventing diseases, we minimize the need for intensive interventions, reducing the carbon footprint of raising livestock, and improving food production efficiency. These efforts contribute to climate change mitigation and ensure food security.
  • Our focus on disease prevention and animal health reduces the economic burden on farmers, enabling them to invest in sustainable practices. Healthy animals require fewer resources, such as feed and water, conserving natural resources and reducing waste. This approach aligns with our commitment to social and economic equity, helping reduce poverty and malnutrition—key targets of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Looking Ahead

Phibro's dedication to sustainability goes beyond business goals. We recognize our responsibility to the broader community and the planet. Moving forward, Phibro remains steadfast in our mission to foster meaningful connections among people, animals and our planet. Our dedication to sustainability and ethical growth will continue to guide our actions, ensuring that we play a positive role in shaping the world we all share.

Together, we can achieve a more sustainable and equitable future. It's more than just our mission—it's what the world needs us all to do.
