Coastal Cleanup Day: Making a Statewide Impact

One way we bring our mission to life is through Coastal Cleanup Day—California’s largest annual volunteer event focused on protecting the state's precious waterways. Every third Saturday in September, tens of thousands of volunteers come together to remove trash and debris from beaches, rivers, lakes, and creeks, preserving the beauty and health of these vital ecosystems.

We recognize that Coastal Cleanup Day looks different for every Californian. With the state’s diverse landscapes, some residents engage with beaches and the Pacific Ocean, while others rally around rivers, lakes, or even neighborhood creeks. No matter the size of the waterway, each cleanup helps safeguard the environment. Every effort contributes to the greater good.
