Leadership Training

Supporting your leaders in developing the soft skills of leadership is a wonderful investment in the future of your organization. The soft skills for leaders are necessary at all levels of leadership as they are the ways that leaders can develop and sustain the relationship building skills necessary to be effective. These are important for each level for the following reasons:

Emerging Leaders - leaders are often promoted due to their technical competence and doing a great job at their work. However, once they are a manager, emerging leaders often lack the skills of what to prioritize, how to delegate, and how to move from being a friend with a peer to now leading them. These sorts of interactions require different skills and tools on the soft skills of leadership compared to just doing the work.

Middle Leaders - leaders at this level are often still getting called in to fight fires. Here there is need to work to train and develp their employees in doing more of the work which requires people skills and relationship building skills. At this level leaders also need to work to grow their strategic thinking and critical thinking skills so that they know how what to focus on and how to grow their teams in that direction, while leaning on their team to get the work done.

Senior Leaders - at this level leaders need to be able to lean on their skills of business acumen or understanding more the breadth of the organization, how it works, and who to interact with. They also need to know how to lead change and help build acceptance and buy in to change going on within the organization. And finally political savvy is critical at this level due to the many stakeholders internally and perhaps externally that the leader is working with.

Soft skills development and enhancement are essential for leaders at all levels and these skills are learnable through leadership training sessions. To find out more information about our leadership training programs reach out to [email protected].
