These quotes come from great leaders of recent years and they all have something in common. It has to do with people, relationships and emotions. But how many managers sit in meetings all day looking at PowerPoint, scrolling through their iPhones, stressed out and forgetting the people? According to a study, more than 50% of those surveyed said “that their manager was a major factor in them quitting their job.” That is why the 5 leadership skills of the future are supposedly:
Crisis management
Flexibility
Work-life balance
Networking
Social competence
which we have heared already 5, 10 or even 15 years ago. It is not crisis management or work-life balance that leads to better results. It is the quality of your emotions and the quality of your energy which influence the thoughts, feelings and behavior of your employees.
The quality of your relationships depends on the quality of your emotions and energy.

Leadership does not mean you lead people, you lead people's thoughts, feelings and behavior. Many leaders are unaware of the impact their emotions and energy unconsciously have on employees and results. In most organizations there is a hierarchy and this hierarchy consists of one or more triangles. An effect arises from these triangles - the “triangle effect”. This effect means, that the person at the top of the triangle influences and controls the emotions, energy and behavior of the people below. And this behavior of the leader is influenced by unconscious patterns to 95% such as:
Fears (fear of loss, fear of failure, fear of not being good enough ,...)
Not being able to let go
Lack of certainty
Lack of setting boundaries
A leader acts like a “triangle”, he sets the tone and sound and decide on the harmony and results in the orchestra.

You can recognize all these patterns in your daily behavior, if you understand how your subconscious mind works with your saboteurs.

Especially in a soccer team you can recognize the triangle effect.
1. In the last few weeks Manchester City lost 5 games in a row. Pep Guardiola started some speeches full of anger and frustration, which affected the performance. And maybe you now think that's normal in soccer and then it is forgotten. For your head yes, for your subconscious mind no.
2. Former Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel was frustrated and angry for months, which could not be ignored at press conferences and was repeatedly provoked by the media. The frustration affected the players and results until Thomas Tuchel received information from a coach.
3. Vincent Kompany, the current coach of Munich. He not only commands during training, but plays along, conveys fun, certainty and confidence. He accepts defeats, analyzes what he can improve and consciously or unconsciously wraps the media around his finger with 2 things to avoid negative energy.
The energy and emotions influence your thoughts, decisions and behavior and thus your results. Whether political games, external influences or team disagreements all depend on these unconscious patterns and the “triangle effect”.?

If a leader cannot control emotions, he cannot expect to win the game
What is your energy and your emotional home? Are you an energy supplier or an energy sucker? Do you block the energy of your employees or do you give them energy? How was your energy before corona, war and inflation and afterwards? Sometimes leaders say to me: “I and the team were more motivated before this time.”? It is the fears, frustrations, worries and doubts that are still available in leaders and employees today and affect their energy, behavior and leadership performance. Show me your energy and I'll tell you how you treat your employees.
If you are in a negative emotional state you chose the wrong focus

Your energy and emotions are a question of your focus and your unconscious patterns. If you want top performance you need top emotions and many leaders can learn this from athletes. Cristiano Ronaldo 3-time world soccer player and 5-time Champions League winner, Serena Williams 23-time Grand Slam winner or Novak Djokovic 24-time Grand Slam and Olympic champion all have something in common. They understand that their results depend on their emotions, thoughts and behavior. They control their fears and doubts from their patterns and change them into certainty, faith and confidence.?
Don't let your results proof your subconscious pattern with your fear and doubt. Let your results proof your desires.

The future leadership skills are not crisis management and work-life balance, but recognizing, understanding and changing negative emotions. It is your emotions that drive your behavior. It is not the work that leads to stress, but your fear of not achieving your goal. It is the lack of courage to let go of the old and trust. It is the lack of certainty within you to trust yourself and your employees instead of controlling them or unconsciously keeping them down. It is the boundaries that you set for yourself and your employees so that you can sleep better at night. As Dale Carnegie said, “Our fatigue is often not caused by work, but by worry, frustration and anger.”?
Every crisis begins and ends with the emotions and thoughts in our heads. If we would follow that proverb, we would live an almost perfect life.

It is your unconscious emotions that draw you to the coffee machine to drown your negative emotions and make you “feel good” again in the short term with a quick push. It's often your fears, worries and doubts that you try to compensate by going higher, faster and further until the day you realize how your subconscious works, what it needs and why you can have better results with ease.
If you are hooked on your coffee cup like a junkie, you still have potential to improve your leadership performance.
Pep Guardiola is currently frustrated, angry and telling himself that he is not good enough, even though he has already won numerous titles. Only when he gives himself and the team certainty, belief and confidence will the results change again. And this is exactly how the “triangle effect” works in companies and teams. You can have the best leaders, employees and strategy, but without the right emotions and energy, some goals remain unfulfilled, because success is 95% emotions and 5% strategy. It's the energy and emotions that works. And you attract what you radiate.
In a relationship, it is the masculine and feminine energy that works. In business, it's joy and fulfillment.
