The one who takes on challenges and has sense of responsibility not just in terms of his or her tasks (Individual / independent performer) but in terms of a team (mostly described as a team player).

1. Open Communication
An effective leader has the skill of being the effective communicator, (delivers complex messages in simple terms and easy to understandable ideas).
Furthermore, a good listener, always open and available for any team members / clients / partners and understands by putting himself / herself in their shoes to get the idea of what is being conveyed.

Critical thinking is one of the most valuable and fruitful skill that a leader must have. Leaders are often challenged to make critical decision and making a timely decision is what matters the most. Foresee the future and making the right decision.

A leader if encounters conflicts, handles the situation to resolve conflicts in a timely manner and efficiently. A leader is the one who is responsible to identify and avoid such risks that may lead to conflicts.

Time management is one of the essential skills, a leader practices time management by setting achievable, smart goals which are realistic and attainable.

A leader has a keen eye which identifies and recognises potential and and acknowledges the abilities and achievements of their team members.

A leader not only recognises the potential but also mentors them to create future leaders by laying the foundation of trust and encouragement by sharing valuable knowledge and rewarding them for their achievements.
8. Delegation
A leader does not stop at just mentorship but also pushes the new leaders through challenges and helping them realise what it takes to be a leader. A leader delegates his / her tasks over time to nurture the future leaders with the necessary thinking styles, critical thinking and making timely decisions in a way that may help the future leaders act and respond to real life events.
