Leadership Presence: Do What Matters

Leadership Presence: Do What Matters

In our ongoing research on leadership presence, we had the opportunity to interview leaders recognized for their strong leadership presence. A key insight that emerged was that these leaders were thoughtful about how they allocated their time, carefully considering what they agreed to – and even more importantly, what they declined.

These leaders demonstrated intentionality in using their time and talents, maintaining a clear focus on areas where they could make a meaningful impact. While they were respectful of the needs of others, they were equally mindful about dedicating time to their own needs.

Reflecting on this, it may be worth considering: Are you spending the right amount of time on your own priorities?

Here are a few questions that may help you reflect:

  1. When was the last time I spent a day following a carefully planned schedule focused on what I felt was most important?
  2. What might my current calendar reveal about where I am actually spending my time?
  3. If I were to design my schedule around my top priorities, what might change?
